The tide can get too low for tours after 12:00pm, so it's best to make sure that there is a spot for you on an earlier departing boat. When we arrived, volunteers at the ticket counter called down to the boat dock to make sure there was room for us on the next boat. They insisted on doing it. But, I think we would have been fine just walking up to the boat.
