Severe flash flood warnings were in effect for Lackawanna and Luzerne counties on Wednesday afternoon. Heavy rain and thunderstorms were reported across the two counties. Flooded basements have been reported in Dunmore.

"The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures," says the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC. The warning is in effect until 8:15 p.m.

At 2:07 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released a flash flood warning in effect until 5:15 p.m. for Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
