Léon Marchand of France has won gold in the 200-meter individual medley at the swimming world championships in Singapore and it had a Texas flavor to it.

The French superstar said his performance 'worries' him ahead of Sunday night's final, after qualifying for the 400m individual medley with an uncharacteristically sluggish swim.

Marchand, who won four golds in Paris, lowered Ryan Lochte's 14-year-old mark by more than 1.3 seconds in Wednesday's semifinals.
