The September 2024 release of Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code editor, version 1.94, features improvements for finding files using the File Explorer.

It steps through installing git, Java, Kick Assembler, and Visual Studio Code. Beyond that, it even explains how to use these tools in partnership with VICE – the Versatile Commodore Emulator.

Visual Studio Code is now using machine learning to detect what programming language is being used in a pasted-in file and then automatically set the appropriate mode.
