Microsoft is making available to Python developers a free, open-source add-on to its Visual Studio suite.

Anaconda includes Microsoft's Visual Studio cross-platform code editor in its Python-based data science platform.

Pylance is now the default language server for Python in Visual Studio Code, providing IntelliSense functionality as of the May 2021 release of the Python Extension for VS Code.

PySpark development is now fully supported in Visual Studio Code. Through an extension built for the aforementioned purpose, users can run Spark jobs with SQL Server 2019 Big Data Clusters.
