Original 3/25: Tapping the Pixel-exclusive weather widgets (which are actually powered by the Google app) or At a Glance at the top of the Pixel Launcher opens the Pixel Weather app.

Apple hasn’t made its own weather app available for CarPlay (though you can ask Siri for the forecast), so third-party developers really are plugging a gap here.
