Android 11 can now be run on Raspberry Pi 4 devices thanks to work of devs who have ported the one-popular OmniROM to the ARM-based mini-computer.

Raspberry Pi, the shockingly affordable mini-computer, is getting a dose of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich that could make it easier to use as a dirt-cheap media player.

A developer has managed to port Android 12L to the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B using an unofficial build of LineageOS 19.1.

Android 4.0 is coming to the Raspberry Pi, giving the ultra-cheap credit-card sized computer a powerful, easy-to-use alternative to the current Linux distribution recommended for use with the system.

Raspberry Pi, the credit card sized low cost mini-computer will be soon getting a proper Android port, according to a post on their official blog.

The Pi also currently runs Linux, but its developers are adding Android 4.0 to the mix. The latest news from the folks behind Pi indicate "great progress" in porting over Ice Cream Sandwich.

It's based on Android 11, and is designed exclusively for the Raspberry Pi 4 — those of you with older models will have to stick with other operating systems, at least for now.
