Inside the boxy blue base is an Arduino Nano, a DS3231 real-time clock module, and a perfboard full of transistors for switching the LED strips inside the segments.
The clock is powered by an Arduino Mega and it uses a DS3231 RTC to keep the time. Each digit has two sliding grids which are affected by small stepper motors.
For playing the music, it uses the BY8001 MP3 Player module and for the alarm clock it uses the DS3231 Real Time Clock module.
