Open-source single board computer vendor Arduino has unveiled two new 32-bit versions of its Uno developer board targeted at internet of things (IoT) projects.
Arduino will continue to make available the Arduino UNO R3 and provide support to all those Arduino enthusiasts that have and would like to create projects using its 8-bit AVR microcontroller.
According to Arduino, easy upgrades are possible for projects made with UNO R3 or Leonardo. The USB port in the previous version is upgraded to USB-C, with max power supply increased to 24V.
The Arduino UNO R4 boasts a 3x performance increase over the UNO R3 and , in addition, SRAM has been upgraded from 2kB to 32kB, and flash memory from 32kB to 256kB to support more complex projects.
