Microsoft recently introduced a new User Interface (UI) for developers called Vision Studio to try its Computer Vision API.

At a press event at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft announced Azure Kinect, a computer vision and speech solutions dev kit.

Computer vision applications While computer vision isn’t perfect, it’s often good enough to be practical. A good example is vision in self-driving automobiles.

The company calls the service, which is available as part of Azure Cognitive Services Computer Vision, a “significant research breakthrough” and an example of its commitment to accessible AI.

The new tools, Azure Custom Vision and an Anomaly Detector service, were unveiled in a March 26 post on the Azure Blog by Anand Raman, the Azure AI platform product manager at Microsoft.

Microsoft has fleshed out its strategy to position its cloud service as a key part of the internet of things fabric with the availability of Azure IoT Hub.
