This time the scythe is coming for one of the company’s oldest features—Gmail’s basic HTML view. In January 2024, that simple interface heads for the great beyond.

The discontinuation of Gmail’s basic HTML view is just the latest addition to Google’s ever-growing list of products, features, services, and more that have been admitted to the Google graveyard.

Google is sunsetting Gmail's basic HMTL view, which allows users to look at their emails in a bare-bones state, starting January 2024.

Moreover, the company mentioned on its support page that until January 2024, if you use an unsupported browser, you can open Gmail in Basic HTML view -- on your computer and your mobile browser.
