Mapping data and spatial analytics provider Esri announced a new platform-as-a-service offering that aims to make it easier for developers to integrate location content and services into their apps.

ESRI will host an online seminar this month that will help Java developers learn about how to build custom GIS Web applications using ArcGIS Server.

You can even access open source OpenStreetMaps through the app. And, one can also hook into ArcGIS servers to pull down maps stored there using ESRI’s desktop mapping software.
