The Smyrna City Council agreed 7-0 Tuesday to ask the U.S. Postal Service to change the ZIP code for Smyrna residents who now have the Mableton ZIP code of 30126.

EAST SIDE TO CHANGE ZIP CODE 8,500 ADDRESSES BETWEEN LEHIGH RIVER AND BETHLEHEM WILL USE 18109, STARTING JULY 1. POSTAL SERVICE SAYS THE MOVE WILL HELP SORTING.
