Warnings Excel will only produce binary numbers with up to 10 bits. This means that it can only convert decimal numbers greater than -513 and less than 512.

Next, select the Bin (Binary) radio button. This will convert the digit from Decimal to Binary. For example, I opted to convert 2015 into Binary, and the converted digit came to 11111011111.

Another way to convert a denary number to binary is to divide the starting number by two. If it divides evenly, the binary digit is 0. If it does not and there is a remainder, the binary digit is 1.

Conversion of binary to decimal numbers is often needed in firmware. And it’s done easily enough if multiplication and division by ten are acceptable.
