Amazon will soon stop paying developers to create skills for Alexa. In a notice spotted by Bloomberg, Amazon told developers it’s ending monthly payouts after June 30th, 2024.

Amazon had been paying developers to create Alexa apps since 2017. Developers will still be able to monetize apps via in-app purchases, similar to how iOS and Android developers generate revenue.
