Only the git init command has the power to create a new Git repository. This simple version control tutorial shows you how to use the git init command.
Git will create a copy of the repository on your local machine, which you can now add, commit and push. Those changes will be local to your repository and won’t impact anyone.
Now that you have your repository cloned to your local machine, add (or create) all the code you need for the repository into the new directory and issue the command: git add .
To initialize the site, first create an index page, either as HTML or Markdown, and push it to the new repository. Go to the URL that’s the repository name to view your site.
