Windows向けに開発されている多くのGUIアプリケーションは、通常そのアプリケーションが提供している設定ダイアログを操作して設定を行う。しかしながらWindows Terminalの場合は異なり、テキスト形式の設定ファイルを編集して設定を行う仕組みになっている。

Windows Terminalの設定はWindows Terminal全体へのものと、Windows Terminal上で動作する各シェルごとのカラー設定、バックグラウンド設定、ショートカットキー設定の4つの項目に分かれている。本連載ではこれまで、後者にあたる各シェルごとの設定を紹介してきた。
