Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 is finally approaching its expected release date. Developers have already initiated pre-release versions for the 1.18 update.

After many regular and experimental Minecraft snapshots, developers are ready to deliver pre-releases for the Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update.

Minecraft runs on Java version 17 as of this pre-release – and you can expect the same to be true of the live version of Java Edition once 1.18 officially lands.

Minecraft 1.18 launched on November 30, 2021. With Caves and Cliffs part 2 now out, you should see version 1.18 recommended as the latest version in your Minecraft Launcher.

After weeks of testing and refinement, Mojang Studios is finally releasing the 1.18.2 patch update for Minecraft: Java Edition, which includes dozens of fixes and technical updates.

Caves & Cliffs Part 2 is set to continue to revitalize Minecraft's world generation, and especially its mountains and cave systems, at the end of this November.

Mojang Studios has released the changelogs for Minecraft 1.18 'Caves and Cliffs Update' Part Two, which is now beginning to release to Minecraft players everywhere.
