If your system BIOS does not have an "Intel Virtualization Technology," "AMD-V" or similar virtualization option, the motherboard does not support the technology.

To enable VT-x on a VM or virtual machine, you need to enable the Intel Virtualization Technology. To do so, open the BIOS on your computer and find out the Intel Virtualization Technology option.

Intel said servers using its hardware-assisted virtualization technology perform virtualization more efficiently as well as enable 64-bit guest operating support in VMWare.

The hardware-enabled virtualization also will enable both 32- and 64-bit operating system and application support, and will lead to smaller and less complex hypervisor software, he said.
