Starting in January 2015, all NPAPI plug-ins will be blocked by default, but Google has left die-hard plug-in users a way to re-enable NPAPI support via the Enterprise Policy system in Chrome.

Google has turned off support for NPAPI in Chrome, disabling plugins such as Java.

Google have kept the option to re-enable the support for NPAPI of you really, really need it, however, they do plan to remove the functionality as of September this year.
