Launch Mozilla Firefox and navigate to the Web page that contains the links you want to open in new tabs. Hold down "Ctrl" and click a link to open it in a new tab.

Save the Web page. Open the page using an Internet browser to test the functionality of your drop-down list. When the item is chosen, the associated Web page opens in a new window.
