Xbox has introduced new speech-to-text transcription and text-to-speech synthesis options for players in Party Chat. The company announced the new accessibility features on 12 May.

Game Chat Transcription on Xbox One & Windows PC ‘Game Chat Transcription’ is a special feature rolled out by Microsoft that allows speech-to-text and text-to-speech capabilities.

Players can also enable text-to-speech and speech-to-text from the party chat options under Options > Configure Ease of Access settings. Select the transcription options you want to use.

Xbox has announced that it will be introducing Party Chat Speech Transcription and Synthesis in its next dashboard update.

You can add text-to-speech voices to Windows 10 through your PC's Settings app to read text aloud in different languages and tones.

You can use the speech-to-text feature on Windows to dictate text in any window, document, or field that you could ordinarily type in.

It is also important to note that once you turn this feature on, Windows 10, and by extension, Microsoft will begin tracking your behavior and interaction using speech recognition and Cortana.
