Minecraft 1.21.1 debuted for Java Edition on August 8, 2024, as a hotfix update to fix a few critical exploits that were being used to intentionally crash multiplayer servers.

The 1.17.1 update will be available for free to all players already owning a copy of Minecraft. This update is expected to release around 8:00 AM PST.
