To launch an elevated PowerShell prompt, click on the 'Windows PowerShell (Admin)' option. Windows 10 will now display a UAC prompt asking if you want to give the program elevated permissions.

The update to Windows 10 version 1607 that was released on Aug. 23 breaks PowerShell and should be deferred, Microsoft announced this week.

On Windows 10 (or 11), you can use these to create and successfully run your first PowerShell script file.
