戸田市立戸田東小学校・中学校は、校舎の建て替えを経て、2021年4月に施設一体型の小中一貫校として開校した。このタイミングで、小学校も中学校も利用できる教室として設置されたのが、「STEAM Lab」だ。その名のとおり、Science、Technology、Engineering、Art、Mathematicsの要素を盛り込んだ「STEAM教育」の拠点として位置づけている。
