On Tuesday Oracle announced the release of a new version of its NetBeans IDE, 8.0, that takes advantage of the latest enhancements in Java SE 8, among other changes.

NetBeans 8.1 is now generally available, supporting developers working with Java SE 8, Java SE Embedded 8, and Java ME Embedded 8, and adding a number of new tools and enhancements.

The latest build of the NetBeans IDE, NetBeans 7.2 Release Candidate 1, is now available for download featuring performance upgrades and other enhancements.

NetBeans 8 contains a number of Java 8 and Java EE enhancements, as well as HTML5 support. NetBeans users rejoice!
