Ubiquitous JavaScript and newcomer Swift garnered 2014 programming language of the year honors from respective ranking organizations.
IMHO today Javascript can help to improve that balance—if used wisely. Said that, I think there is no need to generally minimize Javascript usage today any more to keep that balance.
