Dead pixels were the bane of every screen owner's existence. Now they've vanished without a trace. What changed?

It's a Mag Innovision and a BenQ 20.1 inch running on an XFX Nvidia GeForce 6600GT AGP if that helps any. My setup is an AMD 64 X2 3800+ with 1 gb memory and an Asus motherboard socket 939 non sli.
