Windows Terminal is for developers who use Command Prompt, PowerShell, Azure Cloud Shell and several Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) distributions, such as Ubuntu.
That concession was the foundation on which Microsoft would build its empire. Late last month, in Windows 10 Preview Build 14791, the command prompt was put out to pasture.
