As Microsoft woos open source folks to embrace SQL Server, Oracle is hitting back by enticing Windows developers to MySQL.

Sun Microsystems today said it will acquire MySQL, the leading supplier of open source database software, for $1 billion.

This new Visual Studio plug-in is going to make life much easier for those that have to jump between a command line or MySQL Administrator in order to take care of their MySQL business.
