If you need to open a DMG file on your PC to access business-related files, such as documents or databases, you can do so using a PC software application called 7-Zip.
If the DMG file is stored somewhere else, like on a USB hard drive, unplugging the drive without first unmounting the DMG file can corrupt the part of the file that tells your computer how to open it.
