Textbook affordability is very important to the library and Bates College. One way to address the issue of textbook cost is by adopting Open Educational Resources (OER) as course required texts.

In a report released on Monday, the group said open textbooks—written by faculty members, peer-reviewed, and available free online—could help make textbooks affordable again.
