This tutorial shows you how to permanently or temporarily delete files & folders in Windows using Context Menu, Keyboard shortcuts, CMD, PowerShell, etc.
If you are unable to delete undeletable, locked, ghost folders or files from Windows 11/10 use CMD or Unlocker, Free File Unlocker, Delete Doctor, Tizer UnLocker to delete such files or folders.
Windows won't let you delete, move, or rename a file if a program is using it. Frustratingly, it also won't tell you which program is using the file so that you can solve the problem.
You can delete more files and folders than you intended when using recursive methods. Always double-check the path you're targeting in your command to make sure it's exactly where you want it to be.
Technically, I was trying to get rid of a a folder within a folder within a folder by deleting the top-level folder—a mouthful, I know—but Windows wouldn’t delete it.
Is there any way to use Powershell to delete all items in a specific folder in Exchange 2010 SP3? The only option seems to be Search-Mailbox but that will not take folder input.
