A 200-pound reticulated python at a Florida zoo already stretches over 20 feet long – but the massive reptile is still slithering toward world-record size, according to a zoo official.

Hunters caught a record-sized (for length) Burmese python in eastern Collier County on Monday. It measures 19 feet long, according to The Conservancy of Southwest Florida.

A 19-foot Burmese python — the longest ever recorded — was caught by local hunters in South Florida's Big Cypress National Preserve this week.
