富士通テンは、2016年10月に電子スキャン方式 ミリ波レーダー（Electronically Scanning Radar：以下、ESR）の 生産100万台を達成した。 2012年から生産を開始し、3年11ヶ月目の達成となる。

ウェザーニューズは、周囲360度を高速スキャンし、雲の立体構造を観測できる高頻度観測小型気象レーダー「EAGLE レーダー」を千葉県内に設置。レーダーの有効性を確認する実証実験を開始した。2022年6月にかけてレーダーの精度評価と最終調整などを行なう。
