Is it simple to just install LAMP on Ubuntu Desktop or should I just grow a pair and learn how to use Ubuntu Server?

From what I've read, 20.04 Server is moving away from preseed and into yaml files, but where Desktop is at is nebulous at best. Does anyone have experience with this?
