Tech N9ne said the goal for the Kansas City-specific track was to embody the project's celebration of diversity, creativity and the unifying power of sport.

According to the KC2026 website, the inspiration for the Sonic ID remix originated from Tech N9ne’s many years of making powerful anthems for home teams in Kansas City.

Rapper Tech N9ne wrote Kansas City's World Cup 26 Sonic ID, which FIFA released on Tuesday, and he's thrilled that the song has been well received. Kansas City's is the only one with lyrics.
