NI is delivering LabVIEW 2017 and LabVIEW NXG in the same package, so the cost of choosing one platform over the other comes down to which features are desired by the developers.

LabVIEW 2017 is a continuation built on LabVIEW 2016, but there is also the new LabVIEW NXG (see “What’s the Difference Between LabVIEW 2017 and LabVIEW NXG?”).
