The Tampa Bay Rays are in some serious need of thump and they are addressing it by bringing up Bob Seymour. The 26-year old first baseman has been one of the most prolific power hitters in the Rays system since being selected in the 13th round of the 2021 draft.

This was the 20th week of minor league play. According to FanGraphs ( which factors in age and proximity to the big leagues ), newcomer Jadher Areinamo remains the top hitter in the Rays system; the Rays acquired the 21-year old infielder from Milwaukee for Danny Jansen in late July.

Jacob Lopez made his debut with the Tampa Bay Rays, almost exactly 2 years ago to the day on August 14, 2023 at Oracle Park against the San Francisco Giants. He earned the save that night against the team that originally drafted him. He ended up going seven innings, giving up four hits, no runs, didn't allow a walk, and struck out nine.
