Meteorologists with the NWS Paducah office have also confirmed several tornadoes in its region the afternoon and evening of May 16. Three tornadoes impacted western Kentucky, including an EF-3 tornado in Morganfield with winds of 155 mph, an EF-2 tornado in Allegre and an EF-2 tornado in Casky.

The National Weather Service has confirmed two more tornadoes from the powerful line of storms that swept across Michigan late last week, bringing the total number of twisters to 11. The two latest confirmed tornadoes happened in Ottawa and Barry counties,

An EF-1 tornado touched down in and near Gordon on May 18. The National Weather Service Fort Worth confirmed the tornado on Monday, May 19, citing estimated peak winds of 105 mph. An EF-1 rating is assigned for tornadoes with estimated peak winds between 86 and 110 mph.

As of now, the NWS believes the storm caused minimal damage. Subsequent tornadoes that may have formed are still being investigated.

Nine tornadoes struck Missouri and Kentucky on May 16, including a deadly EF3 in Scott County that killed two people and destroyed homes. The National Weather Service confirmed tornadoes up to EF4 strength.
