Located about 385 miles southeast of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico, Tropical Storm Ivo was moving northwest at 21 mph with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph and higher gusts, the National Hurricane Center said in an advisory on Thursday, Aug. 7.

The storm is forecast to weaken soon before undergoing a period of restrengthening and potentially becoming a hurricane on Monday.

Ivo was a tropical storm in the North Pacific Ocean Thursday afternoon Eastern time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Ivo is the ninth named storm to form in the Eastern Pacific in 2025.
