The White House said Trump agreed to “say hello” to al-Sharaa before the US leader wrapped up his stay in Saudi Arabia and headed to Qatar, where Trump is to be honored with a state visit.

Qatar signed an agreement on Wednesday to purchase jets from U.S. manufacturer Boeing for Qatar Airways during President Donald Trump's visit to the Gulf Arab country.

Even if the jet from Qatar were free, this arrangement would still be a legal and ethical mess. But the free plane for Donald Trump's use also wouldn’t be free.

“The Boeing 747 is being given to the United States Air Force/Department of Defense, NOT TO ME! It is a gift from a Nation, Qatar, that we have successfully defended for many years,” Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, late on Tuesday, May 13.

Qatari officials said the plane was being given by the Qatari Ministry of Defense to the Pentagon but Trump said the Boeing 747-8 jet will be used as Air Force One—the official presidential plane and according to multiple reports, after he leaves office, it will be transferred to the Trump presidential library foundation.
