A sex toy was thrown onto the court during an WNBA game between the Los Angeles Sparks and the Indiana Fever on Tuesday, the third such incident which has impacted the league over the past week.

Brunner, the mother of former WNBA and Arizona State University basketball player Sophie Brunner was killed in a head-on collision in Orangeville, Ill. She was 61.

Sophie Cunningham has made a name for herself in her first season with the Indiana Fever. It began earlier this season when she stepped in to defend Caitlin Clark after Clark was poked in the eye by Jacy Sheldon—now with the Washington Mystics—and shoved to the ground by Connecticut Sun guard Marina Mabrey.

Darcy Bruner, the mother of former WNBA star Sophie Bruner, was killed in a double fatal crash in rural Stephenson County on Saturday, along with Rowando Ic-Choc, 30, of Guatemala.
