What is the Florida Python Challenge?

Florida has a python problem. Since 2000, more than 23,000 Burmese pythons have been removed from the state — and that’s just a fraction of what’s out there. At our recent WINK Listens event, John Gilbride told us he believes the annual hunt doesn’t go far enough. His idea? Year-round bounties for snakes and even their eggs to protect native species in the Everglades and beyond.
