I made every mistake with independent play so you don’t have to 🤦‍♀️ here’s 7 mistakes I made, and how I fixed them: ❌ I expected her to just know how to play 🛠️ I sat beside her and modelled it first. Played together, then slowly stepped back. ❌ I gave her too much stuff 🛠️ Now I offer one simple setup at a time. Less is more when you’re one. ❌ I kept interrupting 🛠️ I stay quiet and watch. No more “yay well done!” every 30 seconds. ❌ I gave up too quickly 🛠️ I give her time to settle in.
